Place intelligence for the UK

Every place in Britain has a number. GeoHana turns it into an answer.

The external data you need, without the work of building it — every UK postcode enriched, joined and ready to query.

The idea

Not fifteen datasets. One place layer.

Most location tools hand you a pile of separate feeds — demographics here, footfall there, planning applications somewhere else — and leave the joining-up to you. GeoHana does the joining first: every UK postcode, LSOA and grid cell enriched with demographics, deprivation, transport, competitors, planning, crime, property, schools, healthcare and environmental data, tracked over time.

Buying data feeds

  • Fifteen disconnected sources
  • You do the spatial joins
  • No shared geography or history
  • A dashboard, not an asset

GeoHana Place Intelligence

  • One standardised, enriched layer
  • Spatially joined and history-tracked
  • Queryable by postcode, LSOA or polygon
  • A product other things are built on
The architecture

A platform underneath, an experience on top.

Three layers, built independently so no single front end ever becomes the product. Data flows in from open and commercial sources, is curated into GeoHana's own data products, and is served through one API to whichever interface a customer needs.

1

Data platform

Where the IP lives. Messy public and commercial data becomes standardised, enriched, spatially joined GeoHana data products — not a folder of files.

2

Intelligence & API

A spatial query service and licensed API sit in front of the curated data, independent of any single interface, so every future front end draws from the same source.

3

Experience

Power BI to start. GeoHana Explorer — a full-screen map you can search, layer and question — when the underlying intelligence has proven itself.

In use

Draw a shape. Get an answer.

Search a place, switch on the layers that matter, and draw a polygon around the area you're weighing up. GeoHana returns a profile instantly — and takes a question directly, in plain English.

The path there

Power BI gets you to market. Explorer becomes the product.

Building the map experience before anyone has paid for the intelligence underneath it is the wrong order. Start where the team already moves fast, and let the data platform prove itself first.

Now

Power BI

Reports and dashboards built on the GeoHana API, in front of the first paying customers within weeks, not quarters. Familiar, fast, and good enough to prove the intelligence is worth paying for.

A first look

What Explorer could look like.

Full-screen, not a dashboard. Search a place, switch on a layer, draw around the area you care about — the profile updates as you draw.
